Tuesday Coffee Concert. The Border Tarts – At Their Best

If you have seen the Border Tarts before then you know you are in for a real treat and if you haven’t,
then this is a must! Roll up for an hour of entertainment from Tom Lehrer Style songs to the classics all performed in the Tarts’ own inimitable style. You can even hear about ‘Mozart a la Cart’. So grab yourself a cuppa and drop in for this event – you will not be disappointed.

The Thursdays are a friendly group of voices meeting weekly at The Maltings, who enjoy the challenge of singing in harmony under the direction of Alison Coates. Their wide repertoire encompasses mediaeval to contemporary and popular to classical music.

Join them for a taste both of this vocal variety and some Maltings coffee in the Henry Travers Suite as they practice some of their pieces and you might even wish to take part and join in.

Coffee Cabaret with Joe Pope and the Memory Laners and Friends
Venue: Radio Rooms, Tweedmouth. Friday 19th May, 10.30 am. Free entry.

Memory Laners is a musical activity group for those living with/alongside Dementia. They are proof that even when the focus of life necessarily changes, the enjoyment, and indeed musicianship, does not have to.

Joe Pope is a fabulous singer/performer from Lancashire who is one of the resident singers at Bader’s Big Band. He also performs regularly in his own neck of the woods in a variety of venues and styles.

There will be performers from the Memory Laners, ably supported by Joe and other musicians.

Come and relax, take in a coffee, and be entertained with songs and music from across the decades that will have you toe tapping or touch your heart!

Friday Night Concert of Delights

Venue: Guildhall Friday 19th May, 19.30 start
A Concert brimming with style to suit every taste from new works to Gershwin.
Come and join Harris, Heather Holly and Sam as they present a smorgasbord of eclectic styles
ranging from original works to iconic composers, all performed using unusual instrument pairings
and voice. Instruments include Indian Harmonium, Theremin, Piano and Saxophones.

A tempting taster of what is on offer…Have you ever dreamed amongst the stars? Come and listen to songs about the Constellations. Find out how P is for Joy, rediscover Gershwin and other familiar gems and take in a Prelude and Fugue with a jazzy twist!
Come and lift the lid of auditory sensation.
