Summer Astronomy: Lecture 4

July 4, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The fourth lecture in a short course covering everything in the universe! Lots to learn whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro.

This is the fourth lecture in a short course in astronomy, led by Dr. Adrian Jannetta, covering basic concepts, practical experience, and the latest developments in a rapidly changing field.

The full course costs £15, or you can book individual lectures for £4 each. Lectures will be delivered via Zoom. If you haven’t used Zoom before, please go to www.zoom.us and look at the tutorials. An invitation to each lecture will be emailed to you.

Week 4 – Down the black hole.

This is the story of gravity. Our attempts to understand why things fall has led to some surprising theories about planetary motion, warped spacetime and what happens when the biggest stars die. What happens when you fall into a black hole?

If you book this course online, we will hold your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy. If you do not wish us to hold your personal data, please book by post (see www.berwickea.co.uk) and do not supply an email address.
