Introduction to Drawing Architecture: Townscapes
April 12 @ 10:00 am - April 26 @ 10:00 am
£47.00
Your tutor is Gail Wareham, who won ‘Best in Show’ at the Art & Framing Industry Awards for her architectural representation of a Venetian staircase. You can see Gail’s work by visiting her website http://www.gailwareham.com. Sessions are at 10 am to 12.30 pm on Tuesdays.
You will find our COVID precautions for this venue here.
This third look at drawing architecture with Gail will benefit anyone with basic drawing skills. You do not have to have attended a previous course.
Whether you are interested in capturing the skyline of a city, or tackling a street view that includes many buildings along with the additional features of a town, this course will take you through the process of how to build the view successfully – how much do you put into the scene to create a balanced composition? What details should we miss out, for fear of complicating the eye of the onlooker? And how do we manage to get the age and decoration of the buildings right?
Gail will talk you through the complications of the added perspective you find in these busy architectural scenes so that you can feel confident in replicating that beauty within your artwork. The course looks at transferring the design of your composition onto paper using pencils, but sets you up for furthering your work with colour, using the medium of your choice.
