A Fresh Approach to Life Drawing
September 21 @ 10:00 am - October 19 @ 12:30 pm£83.00
This course is suitable for the absolute beginner or those with experience of life drawing. Each week we will focus on a different approach or way of looking at the model giving us an armoury of techniques to help us achieve a better likeness or more expressive drawing.
There are ten places available and there is a possibility of the course being repeated from 1 -3.30 pm if there is sufficient demand.
In the first session we will use continuous line drawings, blind drawing and monoprinting. This is an active session designed to free us from fear of making wrong marks and to improve ‘looking’. The resulting drawings will be loose and expressive. Bring large sheets of paper or wallpaper roll, charcoal and pencils.
To build solidity and depth to our figures we will use reductive charcoal drawing, and negative space drawing. You will need large white paper, charcoal and putty rubbers for this session.
In the third session we will concentrate on measurements and proportions with comprehensive instruction on how to achieve a believable figure. Bring paper and pencils or your preferred drawing materials.
4. Heads, Hands and Feet
How to draw those tricky bits! Bring paper and pencils or your preferred drawing materials.
We will begin with short exercises, then onto a less structured workshop with individuals working on their own responses to the model, in the medium of their choice.
There is no need to print out and bring your ticket, as we will have a record of your booking.
